Hair Replacement for the Over 50 Group

Male? Over 50?  Not happy with yourself because of a lack of hair?

Don’t worry…..you’re not alone.

If you are over 50 you are too old to have a hair transplant?

No!

Transplant surgery can still create great results for men over 50!

It does not matter how old you are, baldness and hair loss can start as early as teens and early 20s.  It often happens that some men choose to treat their problem before they begin to lose much.

There are many reasons for why a man would want to replace his hair, for example, he might be starting a new relationship, looking or starting a new job or maybe didn’t have the time or money to undergo the procedure previously.

Often older men just accept that they are going bald and it doesn’t bother them.

They continue their lives as though nothing is changing.  But this is not so easy for some especially if the hair line began receding later in life or clumps of hair started to fall out due to injury or disease.

Given today’s society and economy, a company could be going out of business or downsizing, which may result in a man looking for a new job.  Looking younger could be an advantage and help raise their morale.

There are several things for men over 50 considering the possibility of hair transplants to talk to a surgeon about:

* Age must be taken into account – a thick mop of hair would like ridiculous on a 50 year old;

* Is there donor hair available?  A doctor will be able to answer that depending on the individual;

* There might only be one transplant due to an insufficient amount of donor hair.

* Listen to a Doctor’s advice – especially if it is to not get a transplant.

If you have been advised that a hair transplant would not be successful, you should look for substitute ways to conceal your lack of hair.

A modest hair transplant is usually the choice for most men over 50 for fullness and cosmetic reasons.  This would usually mean the practical approach for men over 50 with the front hairline filled in and some hair in the thin areas behind.

If there are any medical issues that may need to be taken into account before the surgery, it is always best to talk to a doctor.  This includes all medications.

The doctor may then advise on any tricky situations that may occur as a result.  Antibiotics or any special consideration may be needed especially in the case of a heart condition.

Unfortunately....it is best to not expect a full head of hair – especially if you are a man over 50.

A small hair transplant can always make a big difference to an appearance, but expectations should be kept realistic.

A small hair transplant for older men always looks more natural!
