Vitamins for Hair Loss

A lack of vitamin balance in your body is one of the chief reasons for hair loss.

If your hair is beginning to fall out or get thinner, maybe you should have a close look at your diet and work out if it is to blame.

If you adjust your diet to include more of the following vitamins, you are essentially going to adjust - or even prevent your rate of hair loss.

Vitamin A is a vitamin essential to, not only keeping your hair, but also keeping it healthy.  The addition of more of this vitamin to your diet will help your scalp to produce sebum which allows new hair growth.

If you don’t want to take vitamin A as a supplement, there are many foods it can be found in.  Milk, fish liver oil, cheese and eggs all have large amounts of vitamin A as well as many fruits and veggies.

There should be a limit of 25,000 IU of vitamin A consumed daily as too much can lead to hair loss or other more severe problems.

Antioxidants found in many vitamins can also help with your hair loss.

Vitamin C and E are important vitamins which make your hair look shinier and fuller and keep your scalp healthy.  The added bonus is it helps keep your skin healthy and moisturized as well!

Vitamin C is in many fruits and vegetables, particularly citrus fruits.

Vitamin E (another antioxidant) is found in a variety of beans and oils and helps circulation around your scalp.

To help prevent your hair from greying or falling out the vitamin “biotin” can help regain hair vitality as well.

Biotin is known to prevent hair loss and increase hair growth by providing keratin to the scalp area.  This is found in eggs, yeast, liver, rice, milk and grains.

B5 (also known as Pantothenic Acid), B6 and B12 are typically found in the same sources as biotin and have also been proven to help your hair.

Inositol helps your hair at a more cellular level and can be found in grains, yeast, eggs, rice and milk.  The consumption of these foods helps promote hair growth beneath the scalp.

With the correct vitamin balance you will have healthier and fuller hair.

So take a look at your daily vitamin intake.  Vitamins and healthier eating might be all your hair needs to become healthy and full.

If you take a good multi-vitamin or adjust your diet to include these healthy foods, you can stop your hair from thinning or falling out.
