Dental Whitening System

Do you have a Dental Whitening System?

Teeth whitening is not for everyone as some bleaching agents can do more harm to them than the whitening system is worth.

For others, bleaching agents won’t help at all.

For health and safety reasons it is unadvisable to allow children under thirteen years of age to bleach their teeth.

People with sensitive teeth should also not undertake whitening treatments and should even avoid some whitening toothpastes as well as these can exacerbate the problem.

Tooth stains caused by drugs, such as tetracycline also won’t be shifted by bleaching.

If the discoloration is congenital discoloration, unfortunately bleaching won’t be effective at all.

Taking care of our previous tooth enamel and gums is serious business so never scratch at your teeth with anything hard or too abrasive.

Tooth enamel is one of the hardest surfaces on your body, yet it can be scratched or damaged by metal or repeated scraping.

Never use an abrasive on your teeth stronger than regular whitening toothpaste. On sensitive teeth, even using baking soda or salt will weaken and cause damage to the enamel.

This type of deterioration can be mitigated to a degree by having fluoride treatments at your dentist, or by using fluoride toothpaste.

Soft bristled toothbrushes are best used on your teeth, as over time, a medium or hard bristle brush will wear away more of your tooth enamel and is hard on your gums but will not actually provide any more cleaning power than a softer brush.

Extra hard scrubbing back and forth should also not be done in an effort to remove stains as this will wear down the tooth enamel faster.

As part of your every day dental whitening system careful and regular flossing is also very important in keeping your teeth healthy and pearly white.

If you are a smoker you will already know some of the worst stains on your teeth come from the tar and other chemicals sinking deep into your tooth enamel.

Also if you want white tooth never take up chewing tobacco because if you do you can kiss good bye to ever achieving a nice bright smile and sparkling white teeth.

If you can’t kick the habit the best thing you can do to keep your teeth in at least reasonable condition is to brush your teeth after every cigarette you smoke. This could even annoy you enough to give up the habit J

Also avoid smoking while drinking coffee, tea, or any other hot beverages as the heat of the drink will make your teeth more susceptible to tooth staining.
